Rome, the heart of Italian culture, rich in heritage and history and the home of one of Serie A’s most famous football teams. There was a time when you wouldn’t look much further than AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus for a successful Italian side, but now that untouchable three has become very much a power four.
An array of footballing talent grace the famous dark red Roma football shirts and proud they should be to wear such a jersey. The man at the helm is Luciano Spalletti an Italian through and through he’s had a distinguished career managing in his home country.
During the 2004-2005 season, Spalletti guided Udinese to a sensational fourth-placed finish in Serie A, exceeding expectations and securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League.
It was that form that attracted Roma to sign him as replacement for Bruno Conti who barely had time to twirl his first mouthful of spaghetti before he was removed.
Roma currently lie in 5th spot and although the Scudetto is a bit out of reach they will most undoubtedly be gunning for that Champions League spot again.
If there is anyone to rally a side it has to be Francesco Totti, without a doubt he is Mr. Roma having been a player with the side since 1993 he’s made an amazing 409 appearances scoring 171 goals.
He has always been in and out of the media spot light for both the good and villainous reasons but he is a player of such quality that you can see him finishing his career in a Roma football shirt.
